Buchanan Sharp: "Localism, Moral Economy and Royal Paternalism in Late Medieval-Early Modern England"

The talk will focus on one topic drawn from a book project Sharp has been working on for many years and has, at last, finished. The topic is the existence of multiple community based moral economies rather than one single, national moral economy and what that means for our understanding of both the moral economy and royal paternalism.
Buchanan Sharp is Professor Emeritus of English history.
