American History and Institutions Courses

All UCSC undergraduates must demonstrate a knowledge of American history and institutions. The following History courses satisfy the American History and Institutions (AH&I) requirement.

Please note: upper division history courses (HIS 100 and up) require a significant amount reading and writing. Undergraduates who have not completed a college level history course are advised to satisfy their AH&I requirement by taking a lower division history course (HIS 1 - 99).
