The History Department would like to extend a warm welcome to admitted students and their families. The following opportunities are available to help you learn more about our program.

Meet with an Adviser

Prospective students and parents are invited to meet with the History Department undergraduate adviser, Stephanie Bauman, daily from 4 – 5pm in Humanities 1, room 201.

Visit a History Course

As a courtesy, please identify yourself to the course instructor(s) before class begins so that they know you are present. We also ask that you stay for the entire class period so as not to disturb the lecture by leaving early. Visitors are invited to attend the following classes:

Jonathan Kirsch, Stevenson College Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series, "Harlots, Holy Books, and History: Confessions of a Vulgarizer "
Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 4pm. Location: Stevenson Fireside Lounge
Jonathan Kirsch is a graduate of Stevenson College, where he majored in history. He is a journalist and book critic by training and trade. He is the author of seven books on the history of religion and religious texts, including these best-sellers:

God Against the Gods: A History of the War Between Monotheism and Polytheism
