My primary field is modern European history, with a focus on environmental history and the history of science, medicine, and food. I am currently conducting dissertation research on early critiques of food processing and industrial agriculture by physicians, dentists, and scientists.
My teaching field is world history. Aside from my teaching experience in the field, I use global and transnational frameworks extensively in my own research.
