My primary research interest is in Environmental History, including the ecological history of disease, urban environmental history, and the intersection of human and animal agents in history. Other areas of interest include colonial history, genocide studies, history of science, history of popular culture, political and constitutional history, history of the U.S. West, and the history of China.
