Research Focus 
Elizabeth studies the history of American nuns in the early to mid-twentieth century. In particular her research integrates ideals of womanhood, religious history, history of feminisms, oral history and ethnography into the historical study of American Catholic orders of religious women. Her primary teaching field is U.S. History and her secondary field is world history and gender. She will soon be prepared to teach courses on general U.S. History, the history of the U.S. in the 20th century, world history, the history of American religion and religions, U.S. Catholic History, women and religion in the U.S, and courses examining issues related to the history of women, missionaries, and colonialism. In addition to her historical work Elizabeth studies contemporary evangelical Christians in the U.S.
