Directions to Campus

Directions from the Base of Campus (Main Entrance)

Note: Parking permits are required on campus. Meters are available at Cowell, Stevenson, Merrill and Crown Colleges, but they are usually full during the week. You may purchase a guest parking permit at the Information Kiosk, which is located on the right after you pass through the main entrance.

Proceed on the main road, Coolidge Drive, which turns into McLaughlin Drive at the sweeping curve. Once you pass the "Welcome to Central Campus" sign, make the second left turn at the "Cowell College--Humanites Building" sign and proceed to your left. Parking is to the left in the Cowell College upper lot or further down to the left in the Cowell/Stevenson Remote Lot (aka "The Gully"). You may park in any unmarked space with your guest parking permit. If you do not have a permit, meters are located in both the spaces between Cowell and Stevenson Colleges (near the Hahn Art Facility) and in the Cowell/Stevenson Reserve Lot.

From the parking lot, walk toward the Humanities and Social Science buildings. The History Department is located on the second floor, Room 201. If you are entering from the parking lot, this is the ground floor. If you are entering from the Baytree Complex, we're one floor up.
